Welcome to my blog

But first, I want to look back to the past decade. During this decade, I learned a lot. Most of what I have learned I learned all by myself! I have learned to work with the .NET platform, with which I have made all kinds of applications. During the beginning of my career, I built desktop applications using WPF with the MVVM pattern, and I have built web applications using ASP.NET MVC. Some time later, SPA’s were the new hot thing, so I wanted to learn such a JavaScript / TypeScript framework myself, I had decided to learn Angular because it felt familiar to .NET. Fast-forward to today, I have really grown fond of building enterprise web applications with .NET and Angular, and I really specialized myself in it. I have not only learned to work with new tools, but I also learned how to write clean code, by applying the SOLID principles. I have also learned to design the software architecture in a Domain-Driven Design, and I learned to apply various design patterns to really help me and the team in software development. Not only have I developed my computer skills, but I also learned how to work professionally with people. So, I am quite happy with what I have accomplished over the past decade. I want to thank Wilms for giving me a chance to develop myself. 👏

Now, it is time for me to step out of the shadows and take all of this experience onto a new adventure. I am excited to announce that I am going independent and that I am open for freelance opportunities. I am excited about this new career path. This way, I can develop me even further and learn even more. And I hope that I can be the person that can help your organization grow with my solutions!

I have built this website during my free time using Astro and Tailwind CSS. The website currently has a lighthouse score of a 100 in all categories, the website is optimized for performance, accessibility, and SEO. I also plan to blog a bit on the website about some useful tips in software development, or I might even do a tutorial series.

I am also working on some exciting projects, but more about that later!
